Reduce Your Compulsions

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by obsessions (or intrusive and distressing thoughts, images, or urges) and compulsions (or behaviors or mental acts that serve to decrease anxiety).

Some examples of obsessions may be a fear of germs, feeling you need to organize or arrange things a specific way, a fear of hurting yourself or others, or fearing you may forget something.

Examples of compulsions may be washing your hands or cleaning repeatedly, arranging or organizing objects a specific way, checking things repeatedly, or silently counting or saying specific words or phrases to yourself.
