Is this the right fit for me?  How would I get started?

Finding the right therapist can be time-consuming and overwhelming. In order to make the best decision for you and your current mental health needs, Dr. Peterson offers a free 15-minute consultation.   She will answer any questions you may have and see if she is the right therapeutic fit for you.

If Dr. Peterson or you determine that her services would not be the right fit for you at this time, she will ensure you leave with other referrals that will hopefully meet your needs. Her goal is to ensure that you receive the mental health support that will be the most beneficial to you.

How does billing and insurance work?

Dr. Peterson does not accept insurance at this time, however, you may be able to submit receipts from your sessions to your insurance company for out-of-network coverage. Sessions may also be reimbursed through HSA and FSA accounts.

Please let her know if you need receipts of payments for this purpose.

How do I book an appointment?

What to expect from my first session?

Dr. Peterson strives to make your therapy experience positive and uncomplicated. After booking your appointment, you will receive an email confirming the appointment, along with the telehealth link that you will use on the day of your session. You will also receive another email reminder the day before your appointment.

Prior to your first session, you will receive emails to complete your intake paperwork. Included in this intake packet will be your Informed Consent for Psychotherapy, Telehealth Informed Consent, Notice of Privacy Practices, Billing Agreement, and an intake questionnaire and measures used for tracking mental health symptoms.

Are you available evenings and/or weekends?



Dr. Peterson does have limited evening availability, but does not conduct sessions on weekends. Please see available session times at Book Now.

What ages do you treat?



Dr. Peterson only provides services for adults at the current time (ages 18 & over).

Session Rates



For psychotherapy, the current rate is $150 per 53-minute session. Payment is due at the time of appointment and payments are accepted through Zelle (please see this page for instructions on payment: Using Zelle).

When using Zelle, it will request you enter Dr. Peterson's email (DrP@petersonpsychology.com) for payment.
